SESI (Service of Social Industry) and SENAI (National Service of Industrial Learning) Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Education Program brings teaching concepts and high technology experiments to engage students, showing the importance of sciences today and in the future, and empowering the industries to make them even more competitive.
The SESC (Social Service of Commerce), a private non profit organization that provides social activities, health programs, environmental education, special programs for children and the elderly, as well as various leisure activities, has built a new facility in Sao Paulo city. The new facility opens its doors to more than 15,000 people on the weekends. For this new unit, SESC was looking for a high quality acclimatizing solution with low power consumption, high efficiency and a low maintenance costfor its air conditioning and cooling systems equipment.
Hitachi Air Conditioning Brazil was chosen to provide allof the equipment for the acclimatizing and cooling systems for this new unit measuring 38,000 square meters.
Santa Casa de Avaré Hospital, a private hospitalbasedin Avaré city, in the southwest of Sao Paulo state, Brazil, wanted to provide more accurate health image diagnosis to the population.

Until the mid-1980’s, the only connection between Porto Alegre, Canoas, Esteio and Sapucaia do Sul was federal highway BR116. There was a clear need to offer to the general public in the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre a safer, less expensive and ideal transportation alternative. It was decided that a railroad would be built to initially connect these cities. When operations began in 1985, Trensurb selected the solution of a consortium led by Hitachi, playing an important role by supplying 17 high quality, safe trains.
The metropolitan region population growth and the lack of infrastructure for water capitation and supply caused Sao Paulo to face the challenge of getting appropriate water resources needed to supply the city. The solution that combined technical quality and responsibility for an investment in a water supply system expansion and the rapid population growth was provided by Hitachi. Supplying water for nine million inhabitants in Great Sao Paulo, the Cantareira system used Hitachi pumps to attend to the necessity of pumping and elevating water for more than 120 meters uphill to the Aguas Claras reservoir.
